Yakutania Point is a pleasantly easy, short hike that is a stone's throw away from the ship. There's a good chance that you will see some seals and possibly some humpback whales or even orcas out at the Point. Grab a bite in town and head out for a picnic and enjoy the sound of the waves, seabirds, and eagles.
Directions (As listed on nps.gov website) : Walk west along 1st Ave., turn left at Main St. and travel south two blocks. Follow the sidewalk west past the airport terminal. Cross the Skagway River on the footbridge and turn left, following the trail through alders and past the exercise stations. Past exercise station #4 the footpath narrows and ascends rock steps.
