Start your Inside Passage Kayak when you meet your guides and hop on the Fast Ferry to Haines, a beautiful zip through the northernmost part of the Lynn Canal. From here, the launch beach is just a 5 minute walk from the dock, where your guide will walk you through everything you need to know about kayaking and the area. Once you begin your paddle, you will have the opportunity to experience the stunning beauty of the water and landscape around you, but don't forget to keep your eyes out for wildlife: eagles, seals, sea lions, Dall porpoises, and humpback whales have all been spotted on this tour previously.

Throughout the tour, your guide will spend their time filling you in on Southeast Alaska, the geography, and the wildlife that make the area so special. The guides are a wealth of knowledge, so don't be afraid to ask questions, this one of the best shore tours Skagway has for learning all about the area and what makes it tick! Once you arrive back to land, you will be treated to a picnic feast on your private launch beach. And don't forget, your Inside Passage Kayak ends with the same gorgeous Fast Ferry ride that got you to Haines in the first place, so keep your cameras ready!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need previous kayaking experience?
Nope! This trip is rated as 'Easy' or 'Moderate' and we can accommodate even beginner kayakers. There is a recommended fitness level with the ability to paddle 4 miles and to be seated in a kayak for about 2 hours.
What if our cruise ship's schedule is canceled or delayed?
We will try our best to work with you to reschedule the tour to a later time. If that is not a possibility or your ship doesn't make it into port, then you will receive a refund, less any non-refundable fees.
Will the trip still operate if it is raining?
All of our tours operate rain or shine. Much of SE Alaska lies in a temperate rainforest, and we would never do anything if we stopped for rain! With that said, if weather conditions are unsafe, the trip will be canceled, and we will provide a refund. This can happen on kayaking or canoeing trips from time to time and will be typically related to sea or lake conditions, not rain.
Where do I meet my guides?
Your guides will meet you at your cruise docks. More detailed instructions will be included in your confirmation email, but be sure to provide proper cruise information in your reservation.
What about restroom facilities?
Restrooms are available on the dock before you leave for your tour, on the ferry to Haines, and on the dock upon arrival in Haines.
