Description

If you're exploring different things to do in Skagway, you'll inevitably come across the White Pass Summit Tour. It's offered by several different companies and is aptly one of the most popular Skagway tours. The typical White Pass Summit Tour departs Skagway in vehicles that hold up to 11 passengers. This exclusive version gives you the comfort of a private luxury vehicle with just your group and a guide. For groups of 4 or more, you'll pay only a little bit extra to guarantee your group receives individualized attention and you can go at your own pace. But this tour isn't limited to 4 people; we'll find the right vehicle to fit your group.

You'll climb 3,292 feet north from Skagway up to the White Pass Summit, passing scenic waterfalls, overlooks, and surrounding peaks on the way up. Grab a photo at the 'Welcome to Alaska' sign on your way back and see all the things that have made Skagway a top spot for Alaskan travelers.

You won't see this tour offered through the cruise lines. This is an exclusive private tour with a knowledgeable, local guide. This adventure begins by heading north out of Skagway towards the White Pass Summit. You'll see the 'Tormented Valley', International Falls, Pitchfork Falls, and several other prime photo opportunities. Your guide narrates the journey and you are in complete control of this totally customized and private experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of customizations are available for private tours?
There are several different options for your group as we tour. A few examples of what we can do are: Enjoy the scenery from the comfort of our vehicle, stopping for photo opportunities from the Klondike Hwy for as far as you’d like to go. Take a backroad, so that you’ll get to see more remote wilderness areas of Alaska and the Yukon. Take a picnic lunch to enjoy near a river or lake. Talk to a First Nation carver about his love of carving and the culture of his people.
What should I bring?
Passports are REQUIRED for border crossing into Canada, only 15 miles north of Skagway. For some nationalities, additional documentation may be required. Children accompanying parents should have an original or certified copy of their birth certificate or Passport. If one or both parents are not traveling with the child, a notarized letter of authorization from the absent parent(s) is also necessary to cross into Canada. Closed-toed tennis shoes or boots are a good idea for the hike. Also bring your camera! Binoculars are optional, as these are provided for you on the tour.
Will we see wildlife?
Of the various Skagway tours, the Yukon adventures have one of the strongest opportunities for wildlife viewing. Tours entering Yukon include a chance of encountering caribou, sheep, mountain goats, and sometimes even bears and moose. While your chances are good, we cannot guarantee wildlife sightings.
Do you pick up at the ship?
Yes, we will pick you up and drop you off at your ship, or any where that we agree to meet!
Why are passports required?
This tour enters Canada and passports will be required to go through the Canadian customs post, as well as to re-enter the United States. Passports are required for all adults and children 16 or older. Children 15 and under should have an original or certified copy or birth certificate or a Passport. If one or both parents are not traveling with the child, a notarized letter of authorization from the absent parent(s) is also necessary to cross into Canada. Some nationalities may also require a Canada and/or USA Visa. (Single-entry is acceptable). Please bring all original documentation, no copies are allowed. If passengers show up for the tour without the proper ID, they will not be allowed to board. While we will attempt to accommodate passengers lacking identification, there is no guarantee that suitable arrangements can be made, and no refund will be given under these circumstances. Passengers with felonies, DUI, or criminal charges are not allowed entry into Canada.
