Your outing starts with pick-up from the cruise ships and a lift to the Skagway Brewing Company. Here you’ll taste a flight of complimentary Alaskan beer in a private visitors’ room. Interestingly, this top-notch micro Alaska brewery was started in 1897 (!) to serve needy Klondike Gold Rushers! A superb Alaska brewery, it’s most famous for the unique Spruce Tip Ale, brewed from the early-season shoots of local evergreen trees. You will not be disappointed by it! Next you’ll head to the Bonanza Bar and Grill, where you can grab appetizers, pour yourself an additional glass of Alaskan beer, and enjoy a detailed look into the Bonanza's hundred-year-old precursor. Save some space in your stomach, though! Your next destination is the Red Onion Saloon and Brothel, a classic Skagway establishment full of history (and supposedly haunted!).
You’ll get the opportunity to fill your cup once more before taking a trek upstairs for a very, very private tour of the quarters… And then you’ll celebrate a victorious Skagway visit at your final destination, the Happy Endings Saloon. This off-the-beaten-path dive is a favorite among local residents. You’ll have the chance to lean back, relax, and keep your ears primed for fascinating tales from the brave year-round Skagway locals before heading back to the ship, happy and full, whenever you decide you’re ready!
