You won't see this tour offered through the cruise lines. This is an exclusive private tour with a knowledgeable, local guide. Allowing ample time for photo opportunities, lunch, and any additional extras that you might want to do, the 7-hour tour departs from Skagway and follows the Klondike Highway north to Yukon. Your guide narrates the journey and you are in complete control of this totally customized and private experience.
We prefer to get an early start to this tour so we're first on the road. This allows us to beat the crowds and gives us the best opportunity for wildlife viewing. If you have specific requests, just let us know - it's your tour! Note: To add a dogsledding or hiking adventure to this excursion, see the brand-new Private Emerald Lake and Dogsledding Tour or Private Emerald Lake and Hiking Tour.

We hired a car for a six hour tour into the Yukon Territory. Our tour guide, Max, was a wonderful young man who was from Skagway. Max had a very good understanding of the area and showed us everything. We did not see wildlife but the scenery was spectacular. I would recommend this for anyone visiting Skagway. If you can get Max as your tour guide you will have a wonderful experience.
We so enjoyed our private tour with Max. He was hospitable, friendly, flexible and informative. We felt he went out of his way to be accommodating to our desires and offered suggestions that were helpful. We hope others will secure his services.
Max was an AWESOME tour guide!! He took our entire family on a private 4hour tour - we wanted to take our time and not be on a set schedule. This tour was perfect! Not only did we have great weather, but Max and his stories were so much fun! Plus - he is a great photographer with a lot of patience (he had to deal with 8 or 9 cameras at several stops!)
We had such a super day with our tour guide. We explored and saw well beyond what we thought we would. The highlight was the bear and cubs along the side of the road. Thanks for a great day!
